We are here! We are living in the Future of Shopping. Internet shopping for gifts is close to setting new records. Now you can go to a site on the internet which offers what you saw on TV, in a magazine or just a photograph of an item you took. For example, say it was a jacket a movie star was wearing or maybe your favorite friend’s running jacket. Without asking any further, you can go to your computer or mobile phone and click.
Like my aunt used to say, “Do not wander lost; stop and ask for directions.”
[She never said she was the first to say it.]
You get on that shopping site and go to the search bar. Now you are allowed to search the site for what you want to find. So you enter “An Affordable Running Jacket,” for example, and just like magic, there you have it. You click and find dozens to choose from, so you click again and study your choices of style and color. Next, you look for affordability, shipping options, and values that you and only you and your pocketbook can measure. From qualifying for free shipping, may be as little as five days, to the fastest delivery, depending on the order, as little as 6-8 hours. It’s your choice to pay more for a quicker and shorter delivery time and or look to see if you qualify for a discount. Again many options are all in your control. In our current environment, we measure time and cost to get to and from, and also, the loss of time away from things we have come to know are more critical of our time, like being where we choose to be, spending more time with family, and friends.
So the next easy we find is when we click to buy, we choose from our options and “Add to Cart.”Another menu asks which address your jacket should go to, your home, your office, or your favorite friend’s home address. After all, this is a birthday gift, and many sites offer gift options that you get to choose if you want to use. The system asks us which one of your credit cards you’ll use for this purchase. You click on your favorite Visa Card. Another click to review and confirm your order. Bingo! You did it.
Like my aunt used to say, “By doing all you can, all you can gets done.”
You may think back to when you had about a mile of “shopping street” to search and find what you wanted. Sometimes you would ask a friend to help you, being that they knew where to get everything. Not anymore. You got this.
The shopping site is now authorized to deliver the running jacket to your friend’s home address, and you get your due credit for a gift card value or any other promotional offer. You are feeling good because you know that using this shopping site, sometimes you come to find your final cost could go down. All said and done; you have done something nice for someone.
Like my aunt used to say, “Do something nice for someone, and that niceness clings to you.”
