Personal Goals – Let’s Do This Step by Step
April 4, 2024

Being in Business requires you set Personal Goals. Let’s Do This Step by Step. Here we go.

Like my aunt used to say, “First, learn to listen to every word you say, and next, listen to every word you are not saying.”

[She never said she was the first to say it.]

Starting decisively, we must ensure we set out what we must do each day of the week. We review and practice remembering to do this at least three times a day, morning, noon, and night. Remind yourself that each written instruction for bettering yourself and the Business will change your life for the better. As the leader, you have worked to have your team members help you get results. We learn that we meet our goals with the help of our team members, our workers, and not people who are carbon copies of ourselves but people who, in many ways, are better than ourselves. The true secret of our success comes from our associates’ strengths that drive our performance and results.

Now we are right in the neighborhood of goal setting. We write down what we want and need and where and how we move this Business in the direction that helps define what we stand for and, in the long term, what we would like our children to tell their children about us and theBusiness we built. Make this list of things full of what we see as essential and must-haves; look at all areas of your life. You are not alone. You and your team are doing what you can and doing what makes a difference to keep with the Business’s mission and goals, and at the same time, you stay on target with your personal goals.

Like my aunt used to say, “To get more of what you want to get done, write down more of what you need to get done.”

Next, we stop the music and look forward to five years from today. Ask ourselves, what will we be doing? How big or firm is the Business? How are we doing? Do we see ourselves living better and enjoying a different kind of house? In your chosen career, at what stage will you be? What will you have accomplished? We know that setting goals in all areas of our life make it possible for the little steps to position us to meet our most important personal and professional goals. It all becomes possible simply by those three little steps, the action of reviewing daily, revising as necessary, and setting specific deadlines. This process helps us measure where we are.

We do things that are the right thing to do, knowing that when we do not get what we want, we have, in simple words, gained experience. Slowly but surely, we continue to work to be the kind of person we want to be, respect and believe in.

Like my aunt used to say, “It’s the small daily habits we commit to, day in and day out, that can determine our success.”
