Time Management
April 10, 2024

Time Management is the process of planning and exercising conscious control of time spent on specific activities, significantly increasing effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.

Like my aunt used to say, “You want to be of service to work, build, dream and create.”
[Note: She never said she was the first to say it.]

When you are the Boss, you work to follow your plan of specific duties and actions to perform your best job. In simpler words, you learn to follow a plan to earn more money to pay your bills, provide for yourself and your family and save for the future. Let’s get started.

First. Develop a plan of specific duties and actions to perform your job. Make this list and outline those steps. Many call this report a smart list. Now, you are taking control of your time by working first on the most important. A smart sheet describes planned activities to work on that day and for that week.

Second. You develop essential time management skills as you work on following your plan of action. Your decision-making and prioritization of those duties help you complete your tasks as you set boundaries and limits of what is good to do, better to do, and best to do—always striving to do the best you can do. In other words, you learn when to say no.

Like my aunt used to say, “Do not worry about what other people think, do or say.”

Third. Stress comes after poor decisions. When you fall behind, you quickly have to study available options and choose those that make the best use of your time. Again, your dependence on your action plan allows you to see your options better. Often you find out that a duty to action has to be delegated and outsourced for time-saving and the project’s good.

Fourth. The system you employ works only when you diligently follow it. Each day you review your to-do lists and checklists, always prioritizing what is next on the project as per your evaluation. You give urgent tasks the attention they deserve, which will reward you with steps that bring you closer to the goal of completing the project productively and cost-effectively.

Fifth. Lastly, as you become a more assertive professional and capable time manager in your business, you have built new habits of thought and action. You will be free from the past and the financial mistakes of the past. You become more accountable and more thankful, and you will be happier. You will smile more and work to keep yourself in good physical condition. You will feel fit and healthy. You will move serenely along the path of commitment, secure in knowing that you are a success. You will be committed to the achievement of your goals. Every day you decide to move forward with your successful business. You will have peace and be GRATEFUL for all you have.

Like my aunt used to say, “A quitter never wins, and a winner never quits!”
