WALKING SHOES
WALKING SHOES. Have some features other shoes don’t have. They feel good and are very comfortable, and you learn to love them because they take you where you want to go. But not all walking shoes are created equal.
Like my aunt used to say, “Be careful of where you walk. The kind of friends you choose reflects more of what you are like than what you see when you look in a mirror.” [Note: She never said she was the first to say it.]
WALKING SLOWLY. Always remember that you are where you are because you took the chance to walk there on purpose. You timed it just right, and because of this bold step, the greatness of your need may finally be here, waiting on you to act now! You have always been progressing, albeit rather slowly, and didn’t notice it. Remember when your thoughts were, “I can only imagine what I would do if I were in his shoes.” Your Boss wants you to learn and record your ideas that support your goals.
Like my aunt used to say, “Ideas are like good instructions; you use them to gain more knowledge.”
WALKING QUIETLY. Let’s take a look. Right now, you may not resemble a successful team member; however, in your mind’s eye, as long as you are in your thoughts, you are on your way. You are going to be just fine. It’s good to see yourself standing in front of your new team leader when you hear yourself asking for the opportunity to be of service. That you now keep in mind that the most important thing you want to do right now is to go to work with this group and become the most successful worker you can grow to be. That you see yourself as an associate and learning from this successful company all that you can and in the shortest time possible. You must! There is no turning back!
WALKING PURPOSEFULLY. You fixed in your mind that part of your business you wanted to learn, and you determined what you intended to do to get these things done. Your Boss taught you to establish a definite date of when you intend to have these things and to create a concrete plan for carrying out this desire. You can still hear him today, “Go get what you expect. Please do it now! Put the plan into action, ready or not.” “Reduce it to writing.” “Write a clear, concise statement what of you want and by when; and read this statement aloud twice daily, first thing in the morning when you arise and once before you go to sleep.”
WALKING TALL. Now you know that the BOSS works to understand the strengths of the new team members. When you read “OPPORTUNITYISNOWHERE,” you no longer read it as “Opportunity is nowhere.” As a new BOSS, you read it as, “Opportunity is now here!”
Like my aunt used to say, “It’s always good to remember to do the right thing; you will get rewarded for protecting another’s interests.”
